Merry merry ho ho ho.....

This year my bunch of buddies decide to have food and beverage as the theme of gift exchange. N we need to be creative. I started with the idea to make cookies, pop cake, chocolate log..... etc.. but due to my time constraints, I finally decided to make shortbread and lamingtons as the gift.

Merry Christmas to my family and friends. Wishing the world is in peace.

Genki-desu-ka? Japanese cotton cheesecake

I failed 7 times for this cake back in 10 years ago when I first learnt to bake cheesecake. I remember my dad was the victim who was forced to finish all the fail pcs. Though it didnt look like a cake at all, but he still said 'It can be eaten, don't waste'. Then, when I successfully made it, he said ' this really looks like a cake now.' LOL....

I love the cotton-ish texture of this cake, it tastes almost like sponge cake, however it is heavy not like sponge cake which is almost weighless.

I caught this butterfly this morning on my plant. We hardly see butterfly here, so it is my honourable guest. Lovely da?

Lucheon Curl

My hubby always says bread with lucheon is the most perfect food. Well, since I promise my friends to make for them, this time I use lucheon as  my main ingredient.

My curling skill is still a beginner level, some break in between. it looks like spider catches it preys on the web.

Soft soft bun

Aha.. today I baked 10 of this beef ham + cheese. I grabbed whatever I have in the fridge and see this combination is nice for my bread. It is so fun to see the bread expanding like a balloon in the oven. They look like cute babies with fleshy limbs and smooth soft texture. I need to bake somemore for my colleagues and friends..... yaeeeeeeeeeeeeee...

Birdie card

Tomorrow is my ex boss cum friend - Bee Ti's birthday. As usual, I am in rush to make the card because I need to post it out no matter what by today. I love the bird cut out, it is so freely cut and fast; within 1 min. And I free hand write the wording on the card which I never do that before. It turns out good, natural and of course sincere.

Fragrance of orange

Over this weekend, I made orange butter cake for 2nd time. The texture is very fine and soft, but a bit dry and it is sour .. hahah due to I always reduce the sugar volumne. I still prefer my 1st one..

Wedding crafting

I received this order to make a cover for a wedding 'contract'. I spent 4 hours to make this out. It is not only exciting to craft the cover, but am nervous to draw out the wed couple.

Birthday wishes to a far far friend

My far far friend - Doreen's birthday is on today. I made her this butterfly card tying a red ribbon on it.

Wedding gift - Quiche

I challenge myself to make 100+ mini quiche for my cousin's wedding last weekend. What worried me is the pastry which I need the technique to knead it with finger tips. No machine, no tools, purely my both hands. Luckily it turns out quite satisfactory and received good comments from the guests ( they are giving face to me I guess.. heheheh).

October's birthdays

This month I have 2 stars to send to. First I made a card using little cute girl with cupcake stamp for Karin. Every time I see cupcakes I am sure will think of her straight because she likes to request cupcakes whenever she got the chance. AHahahaha but sadly we are too far in distance that I can't deliver easily.

Next, I try a bit different craft which I alter a frame for Susan's birthday. I have been thinking of using purple or green colour theme, but I think this earth colour suits her more.........Not only that, I plus 2 packets of NIPS for her.. hahahaa... don't blame me for pimples popping out ya....

This month's celebration

I made 2 cards in one day. Initially I planned to just make one for birthday. However, I received a late call that a friend of mine is getting married this Sunday. What a surprise to me.

Here is the chance for me to use this "Forever friends" stamp which I bought it long time ago. I follow the pattern which I found in a magazine.

This is the fun card I love. I make this for a good friend's birthday which fall on this Sunday also. This is so cute, I wish her stay cuttie and happy forever.

Dual celebrations

Hello, I have been silent for about a month, Yeah, been to holiday for quite long. Well, now should pick up my craft work.

I received an order from my friend. She gave me this challenge to make a card for 2 occasions: birthday and marriage registration. 2 unrelated days in one card, what a challenge to me. I further think those best wishes card should be fine. But I still dun want such general card, something needs to really match the theme. Thus I come out the below, I choose a dual coloured cardstock. For front page, one side is the gift and blessing to be presented as birthday, the other side is the quotes for the wed. Inside, I put some greetings which are suitable for such happy celebration. Yayeeeee, I made it!!!!

Layered cheesecake

Actually its real name is not called layered cheesecake, I just lazy to flip my receipe book to check it out. Since it is made in layers, simply name it layered cheesecake. I tried out this new receipe, in fact if I look at the ingredients, they are almost the same I use in other cheesecake, rather I should call it new design..hahahah. As usual, I love to add in my own idea, like Chinese idiom says 'add the foot to the snake'..I use almond instead of ground peanut, I skipp the cream because I don't think is necessary and it is fattening... hahahahah further I add more gelatin.. this time it is not melting..LOL

For Cindy

This is my first project of doing a handmade photoalbum for a buddy of mine, Cindy who loves travelling and scrapbooking her photos. I have this in my mind long time ago but just no momentum to kick it off. Until month ago which I know I will run out of time if I don't start it fast as her birthday is around the corner.

These are the covers...

The 'organs'....

Fly again

To me butterfly is such a beautiful creature which I can't resist not using it on my craftwork. I am attracted by this design which I found from a magazine. Thus I just need to think what colour theme I want and punched the edge with flower design to make it more feminine look. I sent this for my colleague's birthday recently.

Butterfly & flowers

I have been longing this fabric when I saw my friend using that for her brooch. Finally the other day I tried my luck to ask the sales attendant if they got such kind fabric sold in the shop. When I saw her nodding her head, I was soooo happy and grabbed 5-6 colours at once.

I saw these patterns from a magazine and straight fall in love with them. I decided to use the fabric to cut the butterfly and flower out. Then I hand sew the edge of the cards and chalk it to have a bit of vintage feel.

Farewell

I love this card, so it is the right time to be presented to a colleague who is going to leave me. It was a sad moment when I know she is leaving, though we are far apart in distance but we are close in the way we work... anyway I wish her happy forever and best of all in her future undertakings.

My first bread

woooo hooooo so excited. This is my first bread. Not to jump straight into complicated receipe (indeed i wanted to . ahhah kiasu), I started with the simple one. Again I roll with kaya jam (dunno why I just love pandan kaya), it took 2 hours to just bake this little tray, luckily it can be swallowed. hheehehhe

Later in the afternoon, I baked again because my hubby complained why no luncheon. Thus, I did luncheon + cheese. Good the taste...

Dedicated to someone

I was inspired by a friend who likes to drink coffee and I can't, thus I use it in my cake. This is too soft and spongy. It sinks when it is cool down which disappoints me a bit. Still can't figure out why  but it is definitely a nice texture bite in your mouth.

Rabbit's favourite

Over the weekend, I bake this carrot muffin. Side track a bit, what is the difference between muffin and cupcake? Anyway, they are all the same for me, still fall back to 'cake' family. This round I reduce a bit of the oil, ya after my cousin's advice it was a bit oily from the last batch I did. And I add in walnuts.. yummy..

Amy's birthday

I made this for my beloved cousin last week. This is the late one (busy at work to be the excuse.. hahhha). I use purple as the colour theme because I want the embellishment to be sticked on. So everything must go with grape colours.

Aroma from pandan leaves

We are so fortunate that we can easily get this plant in our baking in Malaysia. This nature gift from God creates extreme fragrant smell to our cooking. This morning, I cut few from the backyard and grind it to squeeze the citrus out, and I want to make a swiss roll. Partly also because I still have some kaya left in the fridge which I am so lazy to get a bread to go with it. Thus I would use it as the filling for my swiss roll.

Further, I still have lot of the pandan citrus left aside. So I decided to make some pandan cupcakes. Sadly the result is not what I expected. It is too sweet, too moisture til I got to hold it so gently in order not to break it. I don't think that receipe is suitable for cupcakes... Sure I will do more pandan cupcakes using other receipes one day.

I made them

These are the cards I made once upon a time.. They are for lover, baby, friends, or whoever it is suitable for..
